MECHWARS V 1.9 BETA INSTRUCTIONS
--------------------------------
Mechwars shares many common features with other space trading
games, but it has it's uniqueness also. The object of Mechwars so
far is to become the most powerful. The player can accomplish this
by:
GENERATING CASH:
The player travels through 10,000 sectors in search of Enemy
drones to wipe out. Once the player wipes these drones out, then
the player salvages metals and collects a bounty. Once the player
gains a large sum of starvacs, then he/she invest in energy,
planets, mines, shields, weapons, mech maintenance....or whatever.
The metals he salvages can be sold at one of the 1000 bases located
throughout the entire universe. The ratio of drones to sectors
is roughly 1 drone to about every 8 sectors. The payoffs for
destroying a drone can be up to 2x the invested price.
PLANETS:
The player can purchase a planet for 200,000 Starvacs. If the
player chooses to invest in the planet, the planet will produce
energy and mines that will pay for themselves in a short period of
time. In order to defend the planet the player can create
fighters on the planet to defend it, or protect it with mines.
Only the owner and his/her teammates will be allowed to land
without being attacked! But if the owner doesn't want the
teammates on it, he can change the password landing code.
APPRECIATION:
Appreciation is calculated every time the maintenance is ran.
It will give the player .005 of his total worth in Starvacs every
day to help the player combat the drones.
STARTING OUT:
Sector 1-1 is where you start out and that is where you buy
supplies for your mech. You can buy energy, shields, mines, guns,
mounts and have your mech beefed up if this copy is registered.
There is also an art gallery, so check it out as well. Turn your
Num Lock on!
MOVING :
The numeric keypad corresponds to the sector layout. Use #
1..9 to move in 8 different directions. For instance:
(7) Up Left (8) Up (9) Up Right
(4) Left (6) Right
(1) Down Left (2) Down (3) Down Right
FOLDING :
Folding also is another way of moving that is efficent if you
the span you have to move from A to B is 3+ Sectors. You Need to
enter an X,Y coordinate. When you do and everything checks out you
will be transported to the sector you desire...but this is only 90%
accurate and could throw you somewhere else.
ATTACKING :
(1) To attack a mech, bring it into the center view port by
moving or folding there. (2) Then Press (A). The enemies will
appear in your main text window and to the Right with a color and
a number. Pair the enemy with the weapon (Up to 6) and let it rip.
If you destroy an enemy, you will collect metals and a bounty.
Visit sector 1-1 to trade in the starvacs for goods. If you don't
destroy an enemy, you must attack again and again until you do.
To attack a player do 1&2 but you have to choose which player
you wish to attack. Then it calculates your stats and his stats
(IE: Laser Targeting Sight, Mech, Class, Energy, Shields, Avasive,
Targeting, Mass) and Duels it out on a 1:1 Shot firing suicide.
Whoever looses their shields first looses the battle. You may want
an E.F.S, or an E.F.H.S. to aid in your attack, or bail you out.
To attack a planet, just try to land on one that is not yours,
and if you can't answer the password, then invade it. The ratios
are about 1 fighter to 1 shield, 1 mine to 100+ shields. If you
want to destroy a planet, use a cruise missile. Make sure you have
an E.F.S.
OTHER -
Check out your computer and team menu as well, they have some
interesting features in them as well. Everything else is self-
explanitory...I have made a PC into a Mac...everything is menu-
oriented...use "?" for help...if you can't figure it out, contact
another player....in the mean time do some damage and have lots and
lots of fun.
